MEET THE FOUNDER
Throughout my career as a business development strategist, I’ve intentionally chosen to work only with organisations committed to positive social and environmental impact. For me, sustainability and social responsibility aren’t separate values — they’re woven through every professional choice I’ve made, and now, through Mwana Essentials.
You know how some people just fall into their careers? I didn’t.
I’ve worked with companies turning recycled plastic into quality construction materials — proving that what most people throw away can actually build something lasting. I’ve collaborated with artisans transforming recycled wood, glass, and metal into beautiful functional sculptures — think statement tables, art pieces, barbecue grills — all crafted from materials that would otherwise be waste. I co-founded a luxury eco-lodge built entirely from repurposed shipping containers in Tarangire — because I wanted to prove, with my own hands, that luxury and environmental responsibility are not opposites. And I’ve worked closely with organisations supporting people living with physical disabilities, helping build sustainable livelihoods for communities that are too often overlooked.
People and planet. That’s always been my compass.
But becoming Ellie’s mama changed everything.
Suddenly all those years of thinking about sustainability and impact became deeply personal. I was looking at baby products and asking harder questions — What is this made from? Is it safe for her skin? What happens to it when we’re done? Why is quality so hard to find here in Tanzania?
I couldn’t find answers that satisfied me. So I built Mwana Essentials — a brand that does what I’ve always believed in, but for the families I care about most.
Because if I’m going to put something in your baby’s hands — or on their skin — it had better be something I’d trust with Ellie.
And that’s a promise I take seriously.
